Welcome
Julia Borcherts is a book publicist with more than a decade of experience in the industry who has created and delivered career-building campaigns for debut, midlist and bestselling authors, as well as single titles for several Big 5 publishing houses and season catalogues for many independent, university and start-up publishers.
She brings each of her clients a wealth of expertise, a tailored strategy, individualized attention and service, and fresh, creative insight into the many ways to amplify their voices.
Bio
Julia earned her M.F.A in Creative Writing and her M.A. in the Teaching of Writing from Columbia College Chicago, during which time she worked for ten years as a daily columnist for several Chicago Tribune publications and as a frequent contributor to Time Out Chicago, Windy City Times and many other media outlets. She is an adjunct professor in the Creative Writing and Publishing program at DePaul University and in the Department of Creative Writing at Columbia College Chicago, and she regularly speaks at conferences and workshops on the topics of publicity, marketing, social media and author branding. These experiences have earned her a reputation as a well-known and respected resource for connecting and advising authors, media professionals and others in the publishing community.
Services
Julia teams up with authors and publishers to offer seamless collaboration in a carefully considered and customized campaign supported by three foundational pillars: traditional media (print, broadcast/podcast and digital), marketing and social media, and events/community outreach.
She has extensive experience working with literary, historical and genre fiction, short story and essay collections, memoir and biography, young adult titles, and poetry books that are being traditionally published with a warehoused print run, and are at least six months away from publication. (She does not represent print on demand titles or books that have already launched.)
She would love to hear about your forthcoming book!
